Walking Lakeside Drive, Station to Gardens

Some addresses are best understood by walking them. Start at the platform of Lakeside MRT on the East-West Line (EW26), the station that CDL describes as directly linked to Lucerne Grand. That single detail shapes the daily rhythm of the place: for a resident, the first step of a commute is indoors and the last step home is too.

From the station, the way through leads to Lucerne Galleria, the retail podium on level 1 of the development. A podium at street level has an everyday purpose, because it puts small errands on the way home instead of a separate trip. Lucerne Grand has 570 homes in five 17-storey blocks, and the podium forms the retail base of that arrangement.

Step out beyond the podium and the character changes. Lakeside Drive in District 22 sits close to Jurong Lake Gardens, a green space of about 90 hectares. The contrast between a rail-linked doorstep and an open park within walking distance is the heart of the location story, and it is one that photographs and plans cannot fully convey. A morning walk or a weekend cycle begins with a few minutes of pavement rather than a car ride. For families, older relatives or anyone who simply likes an easy loop at dusk, that proximity is worth testing on foot before drawing conclusions from a map.

The rail network matters beyond the first stop. According to the project's own location page, Boon Lay is one stop west of Lakeside and Jurong East is two stops east, with the Jurong Region Line due to serve both from 2028, citing LTA. Those interchanges widen the choice of routes without a resident having to rethink where they live.

It also helps to keep the timetable in view, because a walk today shows the surroundings as they are now and not as they will be on completion. Lucerne Grand is a 99-year leasehold running from 8 September 2025, on a site awarded in June 2025, with expected vacant possession on 7 December 2031. That makes it a home to plan around, not one to move into next season, and a walk of the surroundings today is a good way to imagine the neighbourhood as it will be used.

The land east of the site is earmarked for future development, and what form that takes is for the planning authorities to decide, so it is wise to treat any view as an artist's impression rather than a promise. Visiting in person, at different times of day, is the surest way to judge the noise, the light and the foot traffic for yourself.

The full route, with the interchanges and park access, is mapped on the Lucerne Grand location page, and the Lucerne Grand homepage sets the project in context. If you would like to plan a visit or ask about the surroundings, reach out to arrange a walk-through.
