Lakeside MRT, the East-West Line and the Cross Island Line

Lakeside MRT station (EW26) on the East-West Line sits on the northern edge of Lucerne Grand, and CDL describes the development as directly linked to it. That makes the station the starting point for almost every journey from Lakeside Drive, in both directions along the line.

Lucerne Grand East-West Line Connections

Heading east, Jurong East interchange is two stops away, connecting to the North-South Line towards Woodlands and the north. Buona Vista, six stops from Lakeside, connects to the Circle Line for one-north, Holland Village and the wider city. Heading west, Boon Lay interchange is one stop away, with Jurong Point mall and the bus interchange above it.

Further east, the East-West Line runs on to Outram Park, Raffles Place and City Hall without a change, giving Lucerne Grand residents a single-line ride into the CBD.

The Jurong Region Line and Lucerne Grand

LTA’s Jurong Region Line opens in stages from 2028. Its first stage connects Choa Chu Kang to Boon Lay, and its second stage runs from Tengah through Jurong East to Pandan Reservoir, so both interchanges nearest Lucerne Grand gain the new line from 2028, with a third stage towards NTU and Jurong Pier in 2029, according to LTA.

Lucerne Grand, the Cross Island Line and Jurong Lake District Station

The Cross Island Line’s second phase will end at a new Jurong Lake District station, with stations opening by 2032 according to LTA. The line will link the Jurong Lake District with Turf City, the east of Singapore and Punggol, adding a second rail spine through the district that Lucerne Grand sits in.

Planning Journeys from Lucerne Grand

Once the new lines open, a Lucerne Grand resident will have three rail options within a short distance. The East-West Line stays at the door for the city and the far west. The Jurong Region Line, reached at Boon Lay (JS8) one stop west or Jurong East (JE5) two stops east, will serve Tengah, Choa Chu Kang, Jurong West and the NTU area. The Cross Island Line at Jurong Lake District station will give a direct route north and east across the island.

Journey times depend on the destination, the time of day and transfers, so it is worth checking a regular commute in a journey planner before deciding on a home. For many households, the value lies less in any single trip than in having a choice of routes when one line is busy or disrupted.
