The Jurong Lake District is the area around Jurong Lake that URA is planning as Singapore’s largest business district outside the city centre. Lucerne Grand sits on its western side, beside Lakeside MRT station and Jurong Lake Gardens.

The Jurong Lake District Precincts Around Lucerne Grand

The district brings together established and new areas. Jurong Gateway, around Jurong East MRT, is already a commercial centre with offices, the JEM, Westgate and IMM malls, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Community Hospital. The Lakeside precinct, where Lucerne Grand stands, centres on the lake and Jurong Lake Gardens. Between them, a new mixed-use neighbourhood is planned with offices, homes, hotels and community spaces around the water.

How the Jurong Lake District Plan Has Grown Around Lucerne Grand

URA first unveiled the blueprint for the Jurong Lake District in its Master Plan 2008, and the district is now guided by the Master Plan 2025. URA describes it as a 410-hectare district, covering Jurong Gateway, the lake and its gardens, and the Lakeside area where Lucerne Grand stands.

The area has a long history of change. Jurong began in the 1960s as Singapore’s first major industrial estate, and homes, schools and transport followed over the next two decades. The current plan builds on that base, adding offices, new housing, rail lines and civic attractions around the water, so that people can live, work and spend their leisure time within the same district rather than travelling to the city centre for each.

Rail and Civic Projects Near Lucerne Grand

Transport is central to the plan. The Jurong Region Line adds interchanges at Boon Lay and Jurong East from 2028, and the Cross Island Line brings a new Jurong Lake District station by 2032, according to LTA. The new Science Centre, which URA expects to complete in 2027, is under construction beside Jurong Lake Gardens, and the district is planned around car-lite streets, green links and the lake itself.

For a home at Lucerne Grand, that means the long-term growth of the district happens around an address that already has its own MRT station, a national garden and a supermarket on site.

Living at Lucerne Grand in the Jurong Lake District

Many of the district’s attractions are in daily reach of Lucerne Grand: the malls of Jurong Gateway two stops away, the gardens a short stroll away, and the employment centres of Jurong East, the International Business Park and the Jurong Innovation District nearby.
