Lucerne Grand Developer: City Developments Limited

Lucerne Grand is developed by CDL Polaris Properties Pte. Ltd., with the Lucerne Galleria retail podium held by CDL Polaris Commercial Pte. Ltd. Both companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of City Developments Limited (CDL), one of Singapore’s best-known property groups.

City Developments Limited, the Group Behind Lucerne Grand

CDL was established in 1963 and has grown from a Singapore housebuilder into a global property and hotel group. Per CDL, the group has developed more than 53,000 homes worldwide, has a presence across 29 countries and regions, owns around 23 million square feet of commercial space and holds a hospitality footprint of more than 160 hotels, with nine listed companies across the Singapore, New Zealand, Philippines and international stock exchanges.

In Singapore, CDL’s recent residential launches include Norwood Grand in Woodlands, Union Square Residences on Havelock Road and Newport Residences in Tanjong Pagar. Lucerne Grand continues the “Grand” line of names that CDL uses as a hallmark of its residential brand.

Lucerne Grand and CDL’s Sustainability Record

CDL is known for its long-standing commitment to sustainable development. In January 2025, the group was ranked 39th on Corporate Knights’ Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations, and CDL describes itself as the first and only Singapore company to be included in that listing for 16 consecutive years since 2010. The same announcement records double ‘A’ ratings in the 2023 CDP Global A List for climate action and water security, and an MSCI ESG rating of AAA held since 2010.

That record carries through to Lucerne Grand, which has achieved BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certification. For buyers, it means a home designed to use less energy for cooling and lighting, common areas built for natural ventilation, and a developer whose approach to sustainability is measured and reported each year rather than claimed once at launch.

CDL’s homes are delivered through dedicated project companies, which is why CDL Polaris Properties Pte. Ltd. is named as the developer of Lucerne Grand, while the group’s own standards apply to the design, construction and handover.

ADDP Architects shaped the five blocks around the mountain-and-lake concept, with a jagged roofline above landscaped decks. Tinderbox designed the four facility valleys, 2nd Edition fitted out the homes and the three show units, and United Tec Construction is the builder.

Lucerne Grand and Sustainable Design

Lucerne Grand has achieved the Building and Construction Authority’s Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certification. The design brings good natural ventilation to common areas and homes, a facade that reduces solar heat gain, and recessed balconies and horizontal ledges that shade the interiors. Landscape and water features on the podium help reduce urban heat, and the materials are chosen for their environmental credentials.

Energy-efficient air-conditioning comes in every home, common areas use LED lighting with motion sensors, the smart-home and smart-community systems add convenience, and EV charging stations serve the car park. The amenities page covers the facilities in full.

Why the Name Lucerne Grand

The name is drawn from the lake town of Lucerne in Switzerland, where a mountain skyline rises straight from the water. The architects carried that image to Lakeside Drive: the blocks form a sharp, peaked silhouette against the sky, and the landscape beneath them spreads out calm and reflective, like a lake, with Jurong Lake itself only a short walk away. The six-peak roofline of the Lucerne Grand logo is taken from the same idea. The project details page lists every confirmed particular.
